Every Sunday afternoon during the festival, children age 4 and up can take part in creative workshops centred around a performance. These workshops are organised at the same time and location as the performance, making it possible for the whole family to come to the festival and work on the same theme. Experimentation and play are at the heart of the workshop and different art forms are covered. We work with two age groups (4-7 years and 8-12 years) and the languages spoken are Dutch, French and English. Pre-registration is required.

4-7 years old

In this workshop, kids will explore Mi madre y el dinero, a performance that combines economic reflection with theatrical fiction. Vera Horvath, a mom, painter and creative coach living in Schaerbeek, will host the workshop. In this creative yes-space, children can explore through self-directed art, storytelling and play. There will be many colours and materials to choose from, inspired by jobs, family, and Mexican culture, but only a few adult-made rules about what to do with them. Parents are encouraged to bring playclothes or a change of clothes. Feel free to bring a t-shirt or tote bag to decorate (optional).

8-12 years old

In this workshop, children will work with their own scenarios and audio. Based on the performance Mi madre y el dinero, Atelier Lizzy hosts this workshop, in which the group will collect questions and testimonies. They will string these life stories together via audio, like a garland of real sausages in reference to the show Mi madre y el dinero. This will result in an installation, which will be exhibited for parents at the end.

Accessibility: in every workshop, there will be a quiet corner where kids can decompress and relax.
