Co-directors Daniel Blanga Gubbay and Dries Douibi have decided that the 2026 edition of Kunstenfestivaldesarts will be their final one at the festival.

Having taken on the role in 2018, they look back on the past years with joy and gratitude and are ready to pass on a strong and vibrant festival to a new artistic team.

This spring, the festival’s board will launch an open call for a new artistic direction. The chosen candidate(s) will join the team at the end of this year to start preparing for the 2027 edition.

In parallel, Dries Douibi will also take on a new role as artistic director at LOD muziektheater this March, while remaining involved in shaping the festival until 2026.

With the entire festival team, Daniel Blanga Gubbay and Dries Douibi are looking forward to sharing these next two editions of the festival, starting with this next 30th edition in 2025.
