Eduardo Fukushima São Paulo
A choreographer, dancer, teacher, and dramaturge based in São Paulo, Eduardo Fukushima studied Communication of Body Arts at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, and holds a postgraduate degree in Contemporary Dance Studies from the Universidade Federal da Bahia. He began developing his own work in 2004 and has since presented several pieces internationally: Between Contentions (2008), How to overcome the great tiredness? (2010), Crooked man (2013), Title in Suspension (2017), Imagine (2019), What Stain (2021), Silence (2020), Fall (2022) and Horizonte (2023). Fukushima has participated in the following festivals: Tanz im August in Berlin, Dance Umbrella in London, DañsFabrik in Brest, and Festival Panorama in Rio de Janeiro. In 2023, he created Ver o Ar / Ouvir o Verão [See the air / Listen to the summer] for São Paulo Dance Company and Horizonte + for Balé da Cidade de São Paulo, and from 2020 to 2023, he mentored in the São Paulo government’s Qualification of Arts programme.
